So you have made the decision to cloth diaper…. now what?!
Cloth has changed so much that there are a mind-boggling number of choices out there. From flats to fitteds to all in ones to hybrids it can be confusing. If you are looking for what we have found works best over the last 9 years you can see all of our reviews here. Once you get that all sorted out though one of the next big questions is how do I store them?
Even though the diapers are typically larger or ‘fluffier’ than disposable diapers the storage of them really isn’t that different. We have used the system below for about 7 years now and it has worked well.
These baskets then sit on the middle shelf of our changeable. This keeps the diapers close at hand for changes but keeps them tidy and in one spot. You can see that we have our hanging diaper pail on the side to put used diapers in. Once there is a poopy diaper that bag gets moved to the bathroom where it stays until washing time (we have a diaper sprayer in our bathroom that we use to rinse those diapers). Wipes and a garbage bin for the wipes/disposable diapers are right there as well.
Check out the video below to see our system in more detail.
This is just one way to store cloth diapers and it has worked well for our family. There are many other options out there, though. Pinterest is a great resource to get gather some ideas from.
What about you- do you cloth diaper? What does your storage system for them look like? I’d love to see it!
