From a very young age I have always had a love of writing. From the stories and poetry I used to write in elementary school to the school newspaper and yearbooks I worked on in high school. So when I discovered blogging in 2008 it felt like the perfect medium for me. I could write and share my thoughts and experiences with others but also include pictures at the same time. Blogging has changed greatly since that time and is now a whole different ball game.
For the last 8 and a half years, I have shared so much of who I am along with everything from parenting to DIY projects, to recipes and saving money to the everyday life that my family has lived.
Now though, it is time for a change and time for me to take a step back. Running a website is a massive undertaking time wise and time is just something that I don’t have much of right now. Writing is just part of the picture and actually, quite a small one compared to the photography part, social media connecting and the technical side. You may have noticed some physical changes on the site as I have been trying to fix some glitches. Many, many, many hours later it has still not all yet been resolved.
My health suffered a lot in 2016 with a difficult pregnancy and a DVT. I have been feeling the last few months that I really need to focus on trying to regain some of what I lost. Not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. In the past year our family has also grown from 4 children to 5 and we have switched from public school to learning at home. The changes have been big as have and are the time commitments.
I have gone back and forth with this decision quite a bit and it just feels right that I take some time off.
So what exactly does this mean?
Well, I will be closing my page on Facebook and am not planning to post regularly here for a season. I do have some posts started on topics that I really wanted to share and some videos on Youtube that I was working on so I may pop in every now and then when the stars align. (Make sure to subscribe so you will be notified when something new is posted.) You can still find me on my Instagram account for now. I haven’t made the decision whether to suspend it yet. However, I will continue to post over at homeschool_creations and you can always follow me on Pinterest.
I want to say thank you to those who have supported me in the past and for those who have cheered me on. I hope that everyone has an amazing 2017 and that good things are in store for all of you.
